But a little different this year  

GAME ON!  It’s time for The Watson Project!

For those that may be new to NMR, this is one of our favorite challenges!  This year we are changing things up slightly…please see below.

This Wednesday night 6/3 at the end of the weekly run/walk we will put all the names of those in attendance on a digital raffle wheel and pick one person at random to take home the flag for the night.  This person will need to put the flag out in front of their house (must be prominently displayed) by 5am Thursday morning and then the flag is fair game for anyone to capture it.

Once the game starts, runners will steal the flag and bring it to their house.  You must run at least a mile on your flag journey (whether that is at least a mile to capture the flag or add on some distance after capture).  Throughout the week, it is expected that the flag will change hands numerous times as other runners grab and steal. When you arrive at your house with the flag, you must take a pic and post it to your Strava AND Heylo immediately!  The flag can only be stolen once the pic is posted…no waiting in the bushes to ambush people on their run or stealing it on the run!  Remember, the flag must be prominently displayed at your house.

This is where it can get interesting…all transfers of the flag MUST be done by foot. There is no driving allowed.  So hypothetically if someone from outside of Merrick manages to get a flag to their house, then you will have to run there to retrieve it.  If you are in possession of the flag by the next Wednesday night at 6pm, you get to keep it!

At each of the 4 weekly Wednesday runs in June we will repeat the same process.  Again, whoever has the flag at 6pm on Wednesday is that week’s winner!
