PACE THE MONTH CHALLENGE

September is here!  Time for cooler temps and, hopefully, a lot more running!  The easy breezy life of the Summer is wrapping up and for many of us (especially those that work in education) it’s time to pick up the pace!  With that said, we are bringing back one of our OG challenges with a new name…PACE the Month!

Over the month of September you can complete each of these events…

400m (1 lap around a track)

1 mile

2 mile

5K

10K

10 mile

Half Marathon

Here’s the challenge for some of you…each of these events must be completed on their own day and must be logged as a separate activity on Strava!  You can run as much as you want but you can only complete ONE event per day!

This is a tiered challenge so get in where you fit in.  Or, as we love to say, run as you are!

Achievements

Bronze - 400m, 1 mile, 2 mile

Silver - All of the above plus a 10K

Gold - All of the above plus a 10 mile

Platinum - All of the above plus a Half Marathon

Diamond - Complete all of the activities on consecutive days!

Thirsty Thursdays - 3rd Thursday of Every Month

Once a month we will do a night run from Bourbon & Brews to the MAMS track and back.

NEW YORK CITY MARATHON

The 2025 NMR x NYC Marathon Bus is officially here!  Avoid the planes, trains, and automobiles of the morning!  Sleep in your own bed, leave from Merrick bright and early, and arrive to the start village to mentally prepare for your big day!  We’ve provided transportation to the marathon for the last few years and it’s been a huge success.

Please arrive to the Merrick Train Station (parking lot that is west of Merrick Ave) at 4:45 AM on 11/2.  The bus will leave promptly at 5:00AM and bring you directly to Staten Island.
